The Naples City Ordinances currently prohibit any noise which exceeds the maximum permitted sound levels allowed in Table 1 of Section 22-37 of the Code or unreasonably disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace, tranquility or safety of reasonable persons of ordinary sensibilities. Most leaf blowers currently used in the neighborhood exceed the noise level permitted under the Code. Quieter leaf blowers are now available that are as efficient and cost competitive According to manufacturers they are up to 70% quieter than comparable models and would comply with the permitted sound levels allowed by the Code (65 dBA as measured at 50 feet ).

We the undersigned request Council to direct that effective January 1, 2020, the above mentioned Code be enforced and landscapers operating in the Old Naples Neighborhood be required to use blowers that have been stamped by the manufacturers showing the noise level is 65 dBA or less.
