With the market as it is and the difficulty faced with getting every sale successfully through to exchange, we should try and make the process as quick as possible, knowing the more time it takes it allows buyers & sellers to change their minds and permits other factors to creep in causing the sale to fall apart.
One of the parts of this process, which could be improved, is the time it takes for searches to be returned in the Worthing & Adur area. Presently it takes an average of 5/6 weeks and we know from experience this increases over the peak summer period to approx. 7 weeks.
Government guidelines are 10 working days (2 weeks ). The Brighton & Hove Land Charges Department produce theirs in a maximum of 2 weeks, more often than not within days of being ordered.
May we enlist your support in requesting Worthing & Adur Council to change their process to achieve 2 weeks. We believe it’s really important to help cut down the sale process time and help negate our fall throughs.
Please show your support by signing the electronic petition attached stating your Business Name, your Name and Position in your company – thank you. This will then be delivered to the Council.
Please can you reply by the 20 July (this timeframe will allow for any on annual leave).

I work for Jacobs Steel in Lancing and I am a senior sales consultant. A large portion of my job progressing sales and the delays is causing lots of issues with sales and causing lots of fall throughs. It is also preventing sales from being agreed
as a sales progressor I deal with agents all over the country - Worthing Council have to the slowest please explain why ?
we have lost sales due to the length of time the searches take...
Sales office - Broadwater
We need your department to turn the searches around in a much quicker time as your present turn around times are unacceptable.

this would be an exceptional change.
