Cancel the exams we are frightened and can’t focus

Because of online school I have struggled a lot to keep up with my class work I have ADHD and ocd which means I get distracted very easily my mom is a single mom that work leaving me at home with no supervision causing me not focus and struggle a lot with my school work

it’s severely dangerous in the UAE there are a lot of alerts and warnings from late night to morning in which can take place in between our exams

Take it online or cancel it to ensure all the students are safe and secure

We can not study in this environment it is for the best for the students

I personally think that safety comes first then education.although education is equally important ,a safer approach can be taken

In times like these, it is extremely difficult for students to maintain any sense of normal learning. Our country is currently facing the impact of conflict, with ongoing attacks and instability affecting daily life, including access to schools and safe environments. Under such conditions, it is unreasonable to expect students to prepare properly for IGCSE exams. Many of us cannot study consistently, attend classes, or focus on revision when our safety and well-being are at risk. Education requires stability, and right now that stability simply does not exist. Therefore, it is only fair that the IGCSE exams be reconsidered or cancelled for our region, as students should not be judged on performance during a time when circumstances are far beyond our control.

Dear Ministry of Education, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a Year 11 student in the UAE studying under the International Edexcel (IGCSE) curriculum. I would first like to express my sincere appreciation for the efforts of the UAE government in prioritizing the safety, stability, and wellbeing of all residents during the current regional situation. The leadership and decisive actions taken during this time are truly valued. In light of these circumstances, I would like to respectfully raise concerns regarding the continuation of International Edexcel examinations as currently scheduled. Students across the UAE have experienced significant disruption to their education, including extended periods without in-person learning. Consequently, many of us have not had sufficient time to revise or fully consolidate our understanding in a classroom setting. Entering final examinations after only a brief period of in-person instruction—approximately two weeks in some cases—places students at a clear disadvantage. Additionally, several Edexcel subjects include practical components that are essential to overall assessment. Due to the lack of in-person schooling, students have been unable to complete necessary laboratory work or develop the required practical skills. Being assessed on these components without adequate preparation raises concerns about fairness. It is also important to note that other international examination boards have adapted their assessment approaches. IB examinations have been cancelled, and Cambridge (CIE) has removed practical components. This creates a disparity among students applying to the same universities, where some may receive predicted grades while others are required to sit full examinations under disrupted conditions. This situation raises concerns regarding equal opportunity. Furthermore, the uncertainty surrounding these examinations has caused considerable stress and anxiety among students. It is chal

We understand that the UAE is doing its best to keep everyone safe, and we truly appreciate those efforts. However, the current situation still feels a bit unsafe for us as students, which is affecting our studies. We kindly request some time until things settle down and become more stable.

The situation in our region feels like living in HELL, and students are trying to stay focused even though everything around us is CHAOS. With constant stress, instability, and no real FREEDOM, it’s impossible to prepare properly UP to exam standards. Our minds are LOST, our routines are BROKEN, and expecting normal performance right now just isn’t FAIR. We need cancellation or an alternative assessment before things get even more X than they already are.
