Our kids are hanging in the balance of the current work to rule action by the teacher's union. The teachers have submitted their grades, but there's a catch, they can't enter them electronically leaving it up to the Principals to perform this function. There are many solutions to this issue, but the board has chosen to go the route of not bending to the union and therefore not providing the grades to the kids. Bargaining is tricky business, with every concession seen as a major loss, and the kids are the bargaining chip - no pain, no gain! Parents are not powerless though. We have a voice and we are speaking up today.

We the undersigned call upon the Board of Education, Superintendents and Trustees to use every avenue available to process student's report cards and distribute them by the end of the school year. Our children have a right to know the outcome of their school year in the format of grades on a report card. Withholding this information is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the parents, and tax payers the Board of Education serves.

The government and the union bosses are all at fault here. I love all of the teachers in my life and feel sad that many teachers gave wasted time completing reports that will go nowhere.

My children deserve at least grades on their report card. The proof of their hard work and improvement is essential to their self esteem and their outlook of their school future.

do the job you are paid to do and stop using the children hostage. If you choose not to then you should be fired and bring in teachers who will put the children first.

disgraceful that teachers are using this as a bargaining chip. they don't deserve to be teachers. and if the board allows this they are just as bad

More and more people are resorting to home schooling and private schooling, whether or not they can afford it, despite the fact that we have access to highly paid and highly trained teachers in the public system. This, alone, proves that the public system is flawed. My son will not be returning to public school in the fall.
