We want our downtown to be a healthy active place. I remember when they put the ban in for the kids skateboarding, everyone who lives here should be able to enjoy our downtown!

There is a ban already in place for this type of recreation. The above petition has been written to repeal it.

There is a ban already in place for this type of recreation, this has been in place for several years. The above petition is trying to repeal it.

Please take into consideration that the ban on skateboarding, longboarding, rollerblading and rollerskating is already in place. This petition is to REPEAL this ban, not pass a ban on this. I am clarifying as it seems there are several who did not notice this.

This is unfair to those who are using rollerblades, skateboards and longboards downtown in a responsible and respectful way. I also think that by putting this into affect, thus causing police to enforce it will be a waste of taxpayer money. Wouldn't their time be better spent enforcing laws that actually matter? What about a better use for taxpayer dollars? Such as helping to solve the homelessness issue, just a suggestion! Lastly, in my opinion I think that the police would be better utilized by catching real criminals and not by writing citations to those who use a "recreational" piece of equipment as their transportation! What's next bicycles, wheelchairs and strollers?!

Skateboarding and rollerblading are fun and inexpensive forms of physical activity. Dont ban something that is good for people of all ages.

What is so wrong with roller blading? We are trying to be a healthier community, this would take half the people out of the picture. I love seeing people out in all sorts of transportation that is self propelled.

As a business owner downtown I feel this ban is unneccesary and harmful to the image of our progressive city.

As a tourist who visits once a year, I find this a bit alarming.

I will do my best to be at the meeting on this ban and I hope to be joined by my Peers. This has always been and always will be ridiculous.

Don't our lawmakers have something more to worry about? This is what we pay them to do? And they wonder why there are so many crime/drug problems around this area-it's because there is not a whole lot provided for our youth in this area that are low cost.

people LIVE on skates in northern Minnesota in the summer this is a ridiculous! I am 30 years old and skate in the downtown area. It's a great way to get around town and get some exercise. Shame on the board for thinking this was a good idea!

I didn't know this was in place. This is the stupidest thing I've heard of. To me it's just interfering with their freedom. Nothing else. Property damage is one thing along with trespassing but this is just the city not minding it's own damn business. Pathetic.
