North Carolina's House Bill 2 is a discriminatory piece of legislature that targets transgenders by forcing them to use the bathroom that matches the gender listed on their birth certificate and not the one they identify with. Not only is the Bill highly prejudiced, but causing major backlash in North Carolina economically. According to some reports, it could cost the state up to $5 billion a year. Many proponents of the Bill fear that people will be faux-transgenders and try to sexually assault in the woman's bathroom and say they were in there because they were a "woman". This is very wrong because for most sexual assaulters do not care about such bathroom ordinances because their moral integrity is essentially gone, thus they would proceed with the assault. Also, House Bill 2 promotes prejudice against transgenders, especially for kids because they will think that since the adults are hating transgenders, it will be okay for them to be like that as well, which is not a good thing to teach children. So, please help me in repealing North Carolina House Bill 2, not just for the money, but for our future generations as well.
Seriously, the ignorance of the politicians and lawmakers. Just leave the people alone and let them use the restroom. No one is going to get hurt from it and only the ones who passed it will be hurt by keeping it in place by people fighting them over it. Its a bathroom. They're people. Get over it and move on. Vivá wisdom and open-mindedness!
