Cloth masks (which most wear) do not work against a virus. Most of Dane County is already vaccinated. COVID risk will never be any better than it is right now. Experts agree that the virus will be around for another 1000 years - are we to wear ineffective masks for the rest of our lives? Stop the absurdity!
Proud of these students sticking up for their freedoms-especially when only medical masks -changed out every few hours- even work. Clearly this is more about control than safety. Keep pushing back!
It’s not right to make anyone wear a mask. They are paying 20k+ to go to school at UW Madison and now they have to wear a mask that is causing more harm than good..
Even the CDC has admitted the cloth masks are not helpful in stopping the spread of viruses. All it does is impede our students ability to communicate and interact socially.
If Uw Madison is saying the can enforce a mask mandate to ensure the health safety and wellness of its student and community, why was not already met when they offered free drop in vaccinations? Anything beyond that is beyond the scope of power of the university

Unmask these young people. If they want to find but to force them is just wrong. My daughter has an UW Madison application filled out but is waiting to see where this goes before mailing it.
