A few months ago the Meat Club opened. Many Carlmont students enjoyed the taste of meat right off the grill. Most students join the club because the taste of the food from the club is superior to that of school lunches. Unfortunately the club was shut down by the school administration because it was a considered a "health hazard". Meat Club should reopen because the food is cheaper, it tastes better and it offers nutrition facts unlike the school bought lunches.

When students buy school lunches they have to pay $3.75 to get a small amount of barely warm food. When students pay $2 at Meat Club they get a normal sized serving that is fresh from the grill and delicious. When food is bought from the school it has no nutrition facts, so students have no idea what they are eating. By contrast Meat Club students see the nutrition facts on the packaging, and know exactly what they are eating. Also school lunches provide pizza and hamburgers which are definitely not considered healthier than bacon or sausages which are provided at Meat Club. Since Meat Club meets once every two weeks it has little effect on a student's diet. Other school clubs also provide food on campus, and none of them get canceled, so why should Meat Club get canceled?
