Community spaces are required to have a "community". Our family has made friends and connections with the limited opening time, imagine what the requested hours could do for everybody.

I think it is so important to keep this Community Park Open after school ,on weekends and holidays. This was what was originally agreed upon and generous donations from the Community were given to this project. Why have things changed in the past 2 years?

Maya-Would you please contact me at [email protected]? I just met with Councilman Bonin on another matter and discussed this issue with him. I have some important information that would be helpful in achieving the opening of Brentwood Green. Thx

As a resident of Gretna Green Way it is very difficult for me to understand why we are being locked out when school is not in session???? An answer would be appreciated

Our grandkids enjoy playing there and when locked they are very disappointed. It should be open to the community as originally intended

The community has worked hard to improve the quality of the campus and has generously contributed their time, money, and talent. Please reopen the park for evenings and weekends.

Would be nice to have access to this all week not just on Sundays. Especially since a lot of us did help in planting and beautifying years ago.

Its bad enough that LAUSD has to be involved in this decision, but what the Principal of BSMS thinks also has to be taken into consideration? Really? That is absurd. I sincerely doubt that the original volunteers and donors would have done so had they known that, years later, they would have had to petition some LAUSD wonk for access...

I believe that was the original intent. I'm a neighbor and helped in the planting of the park. No reason not have neighbors enjoy it while it is not in school use.

Our family has fostered meaningful friendships at this park.
I understand there are safety concerns about opening the park on school days. But on non-school days, the community should be able to come together and create a mechanism to keep multiple gates open to the public.

My son grew up at Brentwood Green, playing in the afternoons and on weekends. It would be great to have it open again as he gets older, as well as for all families in the area.

We've lived three blocks from the school for 41 years and wanted all that time for the school to be open to the community on weekends and holidays. It is a shame to have a beautiful park closed to the community.
