SUPPORT THE WESTWAY STABLES TO LOBBY FOR A RENEWEL OF LEASE.WEST WAY TRUST HAVE GIVEN NOTICE TO THE STABLES TO VACATE BY FEBRUARY 2015. IF YOU THINK THE STABLES SHOULD STAY PLEASE ADD YOUR SUPPORT BY SIGNING THIS PETITION.

In view of the great service over almost 20 years to the North Kensington community and in particular her service to children with special educational needs, we the under-signed urge the Council to ask its representatives on the Westway Trust Board of Trustees to reconsider the decision not to renew the lease of the Westway Stables held by Sarah Tuvey. Apart from failing to acknowledge her excellent, dedicated and selfless service, the reputational damage that will accrue not just to the Westway Trust but also to the Council itself will be severe and unnecessary. The Westway Supplementary Planning Document includes provision for stables and a riding arena on the land beneath the Westway and the Westway Stables should be given an opportunity to develop a firm proposal to meet this requirement, which cannot be done without a formal lease.

The lease was terminated by the trust, because in the terms of the lease Sarah should have given notice of her intent to renew next year, she missed the deadline by 2 days only. We feel that decision could be easily be revoked, and Sarah’s right to renew as stated in the terms of the current lease be upheld.

I never imagined this would reach so many people who care as much as I do about the horses. The stories you have shared in the comments regarding what these stables mean to our children are the only reason we are still pushing this forward.

animals, especially horses can really help children with disabilities and emotional problems. There are not enough facilities for children with special educational needs.

Yes, they could fit a lot more sports in the space taken up, but from seeing it on the news just now - there is nowhere quite like the stables and it's something totally different for the kids.

2 days late is ridiculous. Give them a break and let them stay. My son loves going there and it would be a huge shame to see it go.

My niece started riding here last summer and it really helped her confidence. Hard to find places like this in the city nowadays.

This place has been a staple in the area for years. Dont close it down over a stupid clerical error, the kids need this space.
