A 3 month renewal of federal unemployment insurance came within one vote of the 60 needed to overcome a Republican filibuster on February 6, 2014.
There are 1.7 million long-term unemployed job-seekers and congress is taking their time on getting this renewal through. Please sign our petition to persuade Republican senators to renew Unemployment Insurance. Among the thirty-nine Republicans voting to block the benefits renewal were Senators Mark Kirk of Illinois, Rob Portman of Ohio and Dan Coats of Indiana, all of whom had previously indicated a measure of support for renewing the benefits and who went back on their word the day of voting.
Our plan is to gather as many signatures as we can and send this signed petition to Senators Cory Booker and Harry Reid. Do not let Congress take advantage of our inability to march in protest in Washington and shout what we want through this petition.

I have spent my week reading your stories and they serve as a painful reminder of why this fight is necessary. These senators think we are invisible because we are struggling to keep the lights on but watching our numbers grow proves they cannot ignore us forever.

Seeing this momentum grow brings me a sense of hope I have not felt in a long time. Knowing so many people understand the urgency of this struggle keeps me going when the silence from Congress feels heavy.

please help us I am not lazy I just want to be able to keep everything I've worked for my entire life and I am unable to get a job I look everyday for work every for work in every field .
its urgent that they renew unemployment extension. too many people are suffering .my god give the people what they paid into so their children arent suffering and they have a place to live.my sisterinlaw had to go to a shelter because she got evicted from their apartment. please get on the ball and let this pass.
renew euc now!!! im losing my house, my husband is also unemployed, we have 2 small children who need food and roof above their heads!!! please dont delay any longer
No American should be treated like this. Especially if they WORKED and paid taxes!
These are DIRE circumstances! There should be no question that unemployment gets reinstated immediately! How dare Congress hold us hostage like this over political animosity between the parties?
me since 9/28/2011, sears repair center,120 spagnloi rd mellvive ny.sent threaten letters and harrassement ,1 employee threaten to beat me dk.i won case upstate ny, nys dept o labor and judge almaris in hauppuage ny.illegal termination .i connected by email eeoc.still no response from day one .need money now!!!!!!!
Please vote on an extension...a lot of people need help while out there working part-time or looking hard for a job!

Please have a heart and renew euc!! I'm a single mom with nothing left. I have exhausted all savings and borrowing from family. I have worked my entire life. Same company for 30 years! Never unemployed before
