SIGN THE SOUTH SHORE WOMEN'S ALLIANCE PETITION TO TELL CONGRESSMEN LALOTA AND GARBARINO TO EXTEND THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT SUBSIDIES!

If Congress doesn't extend the ACA subsidies, 16 million Americans would lose healthcare, resulting in the death of an estimated 50,000 people per year.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 expanded affordable health insurance to families burdened by pandemic-driven costs. With inflation unchecked and tariffs raising prices further, extending enhanced tax credits is essential—especially on Long Island, where eligibility must reflect the region’s high cost of living.

CD1: 86,500 enrollees benefit from ARPA tax credits. Without them, 2026 premiums rise $1,200 for individuals, $2,500 for couples—a 29% increase.

CD2: 84,900 enrollees benefit. Without credits, 2026 premiums rise $1,400 for individuals, $3,000 for couples—a 36% increase.

We, the undersigned urge Congressmen Lalota and Garbarino to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies before the year's end.

Please pass the ACA extension. Your republican and democratic constituents will be paying much more for health care. Some will have to go without health insurance without this help

May I ask if you both prefer to have many of your constituents receive no medical care or incur great debt to pay for medical expenses once they can't afford to purchase health insurance?

I have a developmentally disabled son who lives in a group home in Smithtown. Joey, and millions of other citizens rely the financial support currently in place for their health needs. The BBB is taking that away. The only alternative for some is to die.
