Console Energy Center is now PPG Paints Arena. This change is new and has already drawn a lot of questions from Pittsburghers as to why add the word Paints? It sounds dumb and doesn't flow well. Local people will just end up calling the place PPG Arena anyway.
It's understandable, knowing that PPG Paints is its own division, but we are talking about branding. This petition is meant to draw attention to PPG to consider renaming the arena to PPG Arena before the name is on the building for too long.

I really did not think this many people would actually care about the name of our arena but wow the momentum is honestly wild right now. It just sounds so much better as PPG Arena anyway and reading through all your comments proves I am not the only one obsessed with how it flows.

It sounds like a hardware store on a Saturday morning. PPG Arena is sleek but PPG Paints Arena is just a mouthful.
Worst name in the NHL. Just horrible. It's like if crayola would buy an arena and name it crayola crayons arena instead of just crayola arena. Just plain horrible
