"PPG Arena" would just sound better. "Paints" arena makes me think of people gathering around eating paint chips. :P

It sounds like a hardware store on a Saturday morning. PPG Arena is sleek but PPG Paints Arena is just a mouthful.

Worst name in the NHL. Just horrible. It's like if crayola would buy an arena and name it crayola crayons arena instead of just crayola arena. Just plain horrible
