What if you came home from work and found that one of your neighbors buried eight (8) dilapidated and decrepit Airstream bodies nose first with the tail end of some sticking 20+ feet above the ground
How hard would you take it that you could not refinance your home and recoup money you spent from a major improvement or addition The reason was due from external obsolesence created by the nose buried Airstream bodies.
How would you explain to your children the foul language from graffiti that was sprayed during the night and you did not know who did it
How would you feel if a middle aged man came to your child and asked if there was a lemonade stand Continued to ask the age of the child, where she went to school and if the parents were home Actually happened - the mother immediately ran the man off.
I believe you would find yoursef desperate to write a petition to save your way of life as you know it.
Frank Bates the owner of Bates RVEE has in fact buried repulsive junked Airstream bodies nose down in the ground in our subdivision. His exhibit has created commercial traffic that has resulted in foul graffiti, peculiar questions posed to children, blocked driveways and unsafe activity on Interstate 4. People are stopping on the sides of Interstate 4, viewing and/or taking pictures of the outlandish site. Some go to the extreme of crossing the already dangerous lanes of Interstate 4.
Mr. Bates has been asked by the neighborhood and Hillsborough County to remove his unsafe and undesirable debris but refuses to do so.
We are asking for your help so that we may present the petition to the Code Enforcement hearing scheduled for March 14, 2008. We, the community thank you in advance.
YOUR SIGNATURES STATE THAT YOU OPPOSE THE NOSE BURIED AIRSTREAMS EXHIBIT, YOU DO NOT CONSIDER BATES EXHIBIT ART AND THAT YOU WOULD NOT WANT THE NOSE BURIED AIRSTREAMS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD OR SUBDIVISION.
The situation in our neighborhood remains just as stressful as the day this began. I have been spending my evenings talking with local officials to figure out exactly how we can finally force the removal of these structures.
March 14, 2008
Seeing this momentum grow proves that people understand why I cannot just sit by while my neighborhood is destroyed. My family deserves to feel safe in our own yard again and your support gives me the strength to keep fighting this.

I drive past there sometimes and I cant believe what I am seeing. So trashy. Poor neighbors have to deal with graffiti and strangers now too.

This is completely insane. Who does that in a residential area?! My kids play outside all the time and I would be terrified if some weirdo was roaming around asking questions.

Absolute eyesore. Bates has no respect for the people living there. Property values must be in the toilet because of this trash.

Why hasn't the county stepped in to tear this down yet? It is literally a safety hazard for anyone driving on I-4. Fix this now.
