On May 1st, 2010, my four-year-old nephew, Dominic, took a nasty spill off the top half of the blue slide behind the Freight House in Davenport. He fell approximately 3-4 feet to the ground. I know because I saw it happen in slow motion. We immediately heard from two women who ran over to check on him, stating they've seen 'many kids fall off that slide'. He fell on his side, but complained that his 'whole body hurt' and later, of a bad headache. When the vomiting started, we took him to the ER, to find that he had had a concussion. This slide is obnoxiously unsafe and needs to be removed before another kid gets hurt. This petition states that the signed individuals want this slide removed from all parks in Davenport immediately for the safety of our children.
