Derbyshire County Council recently removed the mini roundabout at Hasland Village and replaced it with Traffic lights.  Many have complained in the Derbyshire Times, drivers and pedestrians.  Who ever thought it was a good idea to do this should have consulted residents first as the traffic lights are causing mayhem.  Traffic from Calow Lane is stood even when lights change to green.  Access to the parking for the shops has become almost impossible due to cars queing at the lights.  Anyone waiting to get into a space coming from town end causes a backlog of traffic.  The pedestrian crossing takes ages to change and some people are unsure when to cross.  Some cars are stopping to let people cross when the traffic lights are on green.  Cars are now avoiding passing the shops and are travelling through the estate to the rear of the shops, so now the residents are complaining about that too.  These lights need removing and a roundabout put back.  Message to the council, if its not broken, dont fix it.
