okay, do you guys remember that dreaded day when your gym teacher would line you and your classmates up along the lines of the gym floor, and tell you that you'd be doing the beep test? I certainly do, and I don't think I could ever forget. This unholy, cruel, gruelling, test was created in 1982 by Luc Léger in Montreal. As we all know, not everyone is created equal, and schools have started to realize this, and have therefore started making different level courses for different levels of learning. Difference in athleticism is very much the same as difference in academic capacity, so why on earth do schools still use this old school method of measuring fitness? People are built all different sorts of ways, because we all have a different genetic makeup. ie. different height, weight, etc. All of that plays a role in how fast/long we can run. The fitnessgram pacer test is an innacurate way of measuring ones athletic success. I vote that we remove this test from schools worldwide, and opt for a more personal, detailed and tailored test for students of all athletic backgrounds. If you agree, sign this petition.
