Recently, a little gerbil named Rue was stabbed in the stomach and had bled to death in her cage without any students telling the teacher. Because something like this has happened, it will happen again eventually and the innocent animals in the classroom need to be removed.
The small mammals in out science classroom are kept in unhealthy conditions. Their bedding is toxic to them, they are in busy, loud, and stressful environments, and they are unsocialized and live in constant fear. I would like to rehome all of the animals (or at least the mammals, who I know need socialization and attention) in my school to permanent homes or a shelter so they don't have to deal with the stress of their daily lives.

The school administration remains silent despite the evidence. I am meeting with the principal tomorrow to demand these animals be moved to safety.

My kid told me about this and I am livid. Schools are for learning not for neglecting animals to death.
That poor gerbil. My heart just breaks thinking about it. Please remove the rest before another one ends up dead.
REHOME THEM IMMEDIATELY. This is animal cruelty plain and simple.
This is honestly so messed up. Poor little things deserve so much better than living in cages at a school where kids are literally killing them. Get them out of there now.
Heartbreaking. Nobody should be allowed to have classroom pets if they clearly cant keep them safe from these kids.

Teachers responsibility to keep them safe. If they cant watch the cages 24/7 then they have no business keeping them in a classroom setting.
