Pitbulls should not be banned.

Humans used to have restrictions on "colored" people because they assumed these people to act a certain way based on a small number who act wrongly. They finally realized that everyone is equal, and took away those restrictions.

It's kind of the same with pitbulls, the whole lot gets judged and assumed to act in one way because of a few that acted wrongly.

Dogs are only reflections of their owners and upbringings; if the dog was abused it will most likely become a hostile animal. But with correct training, and growing up in a humane and loving home, dogs become gentle and friendly animals.

Just because a breed is used incorrectly by some, doesn't mean it should be banned and taken away from everyone else.

There needs to be rules on who can own dogs. There needs to be a test of sorts in place to see if someone is prepared and ready for a dog; and the home environment needs to be deemed safe and healthy for a dog to grow up in. That way, dog attacks will diminish, and most dogs would be kind and friendly.
