We are entering the 3rd year of the COVID19 pandemic. We’ve seen the “science” change continuously while witnessing our right as parents to decide what is best for our children medically be stripped away. There are plenty of studies showing the ill effects of masks on children and the data has consistently shown mortality rates consistent with the flu for their age group. More than half of the states in the US have removed mask mandates and the UK has done away with it for all citizens. Some may say that those are other states and another country, but there are private Christian schools right here in our community that have have made masks optional. Christ Lutheran and Mariners Christian have had an optional mask policy not just this year, but last year as well. Their students and parents are all fine. This petition is for the parents who would like their right to choose what’s best for their kids back. We’re not asking to prohibit masks just to simply make them optional so we can all see their smiling faces again. After all, watching your kids sing “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” with a mask on is foolish.

We have ample evidence that masks do more harm to children than good. We cannot stand by and allow this to go on. Not one study has supported mask efficiency, and the one that the CDC has been using as its de facto go to has been debunked by the Atlantic, of all places. Regardless of what Newsom mandates or doesn’t mandate, our responsibility is to the children’s well-being first. Enough is enough. This must end.
My son Ethan is in Kindergarten in Mrs. Specht’s class. He tells me frequently he can’t properly breathe in his mask. We believe in mask choice. Thank you to the creator of this petition!
It’s time to let parents make their own decisions, “Science” does not support these mandates. Money from the teacher’s unions does, though. As a private Christian school, HCS should be able to stand up to corrupt government “leaders” who don’t even follow their own rules. Why can other schools do it but not HCS? I am thankful they have honored the medical mask exemption for my son, but it is time to end if for everyone NOW.
Respectfully, I feel it's time to remove the mask requirement at HCS. Pacifica Christian has had optional masks and no major outbreaks. The kids need this, they need it to be optional. We thank the HCS staff for their dedication to our kids.
Kids in states all over the USA are mask free and healthy. If a student at hcs wants to wear a mask they can. But our kids have been through enough and have complied for 2 years. Kids are not at risk for Covid & if they are afraid they can be vaxxed and masked. Let the parents chose. The school needs to look around and see why families are leaving. And look at the data not the politics. WWJD?

How is a mask mandate that has been proven ineffective still being mandated on a demographic that is not negatively impacted by COVID19? And at a school like HCS? What an absolute disappointment. Was disappointed this was the decision first made and am dumbfounded it still stands. Hope HCS comes to its senses asap for the sake of the children.
