Dear Kenyans,
Our National Anthem begins with the words "Oh God of all Creation." We feel that it is important to reflect the realities of Kenya today in the wording of the National Anthem. Not all Kenyans believe in the existence of a God. Removing 'God' from the Kenyan National anthem would make the anthem be inclusive. Kenya is a secular state. By removing 'God' from the National Anthem, we will promote secularism in Kenya . This would keep church and state separate in line with Article 8 of the Constitution. This petition will be presented to the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Though I am not an atheist, I believe that there has been an unholy marriage between religion and state affairs. This may be the first step to do away with this interferance. I wish for separation of church and state.
I support the petition because it is in line with our Constitution. Kenya is a secular state and out National Anthem should reflect this. #SeparateChurch&State
The national anthem as currently worded violates my constitutional right and freedom not to believe in the existence of deities.
It is time Kenya became secular in all senses. Religion has already claimed people's lives and money has been lost to religious institutions and con pastors...The "God" concept was born in the human brain. It is time it died in the same location...#freeThinkers
I actually have been thinking about that for quite some time. The tune should be preserved but the lyrics should be changed in order to make it more inclusive
god did not create everything. not all people believe in it. more than 1 gods are not real. they're fictional.

I believe that the national anthem should reflect the values of all Kenyans. Removing the word "God" is a step towards removing limiting and religiously biased generalities from defining our national spirit.
