Ashley Broadway has been named the Fort Bragg Spouse of the Year and will be competing for Military Spouse of the Year. But she is not a Military Spouse. She is the lesbian partner of a soldier in the Army stationed at Fort Bragg. She does not hold an ID card, and her marriage is not recognized by the military, this country, or the state she is representing. The award needs to be given to a true, deserving Army spouse.
