I'm calling on ALL Desoto alumni and community members to join me in asking for the resignation of Jerry Hall stemming from his controversial and distasteful remarks regarding the ladies volleyball team taking a knee during the National Anthem. When 78% of the district is black, his remarks and the calling for more white teachers or trying to get peaceful protesters punished will not be tolerated. His insensitive comments have shown his lack of respect and total disregard for the Desoto student body and staff members of color.
Those students taking a knee may one day be gunned down just because their skin is of a darker shade. How can you call yourself a good educator/board member/ person if you can not empathize with the pain of the district you represent?
Sadly in the state of Texas, there is no way to force a re-election but with the support of Desoto residents, community members, leaders, administration, teachers and students, we can apply enough pressure, provide a legitimate argument and call for the resignation of Jerry Hall. Change starts with us, we must apply constant pressure until the changes that we deem necessary are met.

One hundred people have spoken up and demanded better for our students. Jerry Hall needs to realize that his racist rhetoric has no place in our district and we are just warming up.

Jerry Hall still thinks he can ignore the outrage of this community while he clings to his seat on the board. I am spending my time compiling every documented instance of his bigotry to ensure he has nowhere to hide when we finally confront his record in public.

The momentum we have built proves that the community is fed up with Jerry Hall and his blatant disregard for our students. Hall needs to understand that his time on the board is over because we refuse to let his toxic rhetoric continue to poison our schools.

Shame on Jerry Hall for his comments. My family has been in DeSoto for over 40yrs and he does not represent what the future of this city deserves.
I teach my child to stand for what is right, being respectful. To say need white teachers is to imply those that are in the district don't know what they are doing. PROUD MOTHER OF 2015GRADUATE.
So very proud of our youth "standing up" for what they believe believe in. As an African American DeSoto Volleyball Alumni, their wise choice hit close to home. Our youth need to be supported more than ever right now.
I'm proud of those girls for standing yup for something that they believe in. They shouldn't be penalized for a peaceful act that didn't disrupt anything. #ProudAlumni #ClassOf2010
I dont feel hes capiable of preforming his job to the best of his abilities with his bias remarks following the Desoto girls vollyball team kneel down
Get him gone.. NOW!!
Jerry needs to go and no longer work in the Desoto Isd District or any other black community district.

We need someone on the school board who is fluent in cultural sensitivity! Obviously he's had little to no training in this area!
