I'm calling on ALL Desoto alumni and community members to join me in asking for the resignation of Jerry Hall stemming from his controversial and distasteful remarks regarding the ladies volleyball team taking a knee during the National Anthem. When 78% of the district is black, his remarks and the calling for more white teachers or trying to get peaceful protesters punished will not be tolerated. His insensitive comments have shown his lack of respect and total disregard for the Desoto student body and staff members of color.

Those students taking a knee may one day be gunned down just because their skin is of a darker shade. How can you call yourself a good educator/board member/ person if you can not empathize with the pain of the district you represent?

Sadly in the state of Texas, there is no way to force a re-election but with the support of Desoto residents, community members, leaders, administration, teachers and students, we can apply enough pressure, provide a legitimate argument and call for the resignation of Jerry Hall. Change starts with us, we must apply constant pressure until the changes that we deem necessary are met.
