We ask that the first minister of Scotland removes Feargal Dalton as a councillor for the Partick West constituency.
Mr Dalton is a supporter of Irish republicanism, this is wholly against the British/Scottish political principles of support for all no matter their background.
This petition is not about someone being Irish, we support the principle of people from any culture and background becoming involved in the community. Mr Dalton gives tacit support to Irish republicanism and in whatever form it takes this shows that he is not the right person to represent all his constituents no matter their background.
We ask that the first minister removes Feargal Dalton as a councillor for Partick West and he is replaced by someone who sincerely wants to represent all its constituents no matter their background.

The momentum behind this push to remove Feargal Dalton proves that people in Partick West are fed up with his divisive agenda. The First Minister cannot afford to ignore this growing wall of opposition any longer. We finally have the clear mandate needed to demand he steps down.

Feargal Dalton refuses to address his ties to extremist ideologies while the people of Partick West continue to be ignored. We are currently preparing a formal inquiry to the First Minister to demand accountability for this blatant disregard of neutral representation.

Feargal Dalton needs to see that we are not backing down on this. We are pushing toward one thousand signatures and I need you to force this into every timeline you have access to right now. The First Minister will not be able to ignore us once we hit this mark.

i thought councillors were supposed to be impartial to religious beliefs and concentrate on local government policies please remove this so called councilor from the city of Glasgow and hold an election to replace him
Are people unaware that Feargal is a former Lt Comd in the Royal Navy who has served this country with distinction? Saddened that people think that someone's political views should be silenced, especially since that individual served to ensure that ALL voices should be heard.
People in both Northern Ireland and the Republic are trying to put the past behind them. Mr Dalton seems hellbent in ensuring that this does not happen with his affection for violent republican terrorism, he should not be allowed to bring this to the streets of Glasgow.
This outright support for political change in another country is of no relevance to local constituents and certainly would not command the support of the vast majority if local people. An alternative councillor with the local peoples needs at heart is essential.
A councillor is there to represent the people which includes all denominations of culture and religion within his area of responsibility. This councillor obviously isn't so he's not suited for the post in Partick.
We don’t need this rubbish in Scotland
There is no place in Scottish politics for Irish republicans

I notice Fergal has played the race card already when ethnicity has nothing to do with this petition. I coundn't care less that he is Irish as I am from an Irish background myself. The past is the past 1916 was almost one hundred years ago its time we all moved on.
