Councillor Dornan has been an integral part of the Govan community for almost 17 years. During this time he has worked tirelessly to support and improve the community for all its residents. His dedication and commitment to Govan has ensured the delivery of the Regeneration of West Drumoyne-Elder Grove, the Regeneration of Central Govan Civic and Public Realm, the delivery of two new build schools Govan Campus and Pirie Park and a sport centre for the area Glasgow Club Drumoyne, at an investment of £128 million. Redevelopment of Orkney Street Enterprise, the creation of Linthouse Urban Village both as a result of Councillor Dornan’s drive for our community Councillor Dornan provides endless support to many local community groups/organisations including Park Villa Football Development, Cartha Queens Park Rugby Club, Preshall Trust, and was part of the dedicated group who where successful in the development of McKenna Park ensuring the continued future of St Anthony’s JFC, Councillor Dornan’s devotion to the Govan community ensured the survival of Community Halls such as, Royal Stuart Sheildhall Road Drumoyne, Pearce Institute Govan Road. Riverside and Whitefield Road Halls Councillor Dornan has lead the Govan Fair carrying the Sheep’s Heid annually for the past twenty-one years, and he has lead the way in our community in his support for over 500 Community grants for local organisations Youth exchanges over a period of 6 years have provided adventure and experiences to over 200 children.
