The only way a nation can advance is through the enterprising nature of its citizens. Startups play a critical role in the growth of the wealth of a country. However, in Kenya it feels like startups/businesses succeed in spite of the government. The government, through its restrictive tax laws, complex regulation and murky bureaucracy not to mention corruption has impeded the growth of existing startups and created a situation where it is next to impossible for the average entrepreneur to succeed. This unfortunate situation has to change. Simply put, the government should not get in the way of its citizens

We want to make life easier for Kenyan business people.

One of the ways to achieve this the removal of all taxes, tariffs and any other government charges and restrictions on the importation of capital goods. For example if a young farmer wants to import a tractor for use on his/her farm, the only thing he/she should pay for is the cost of the said tractor and the shipping charges. He/She should not “be punished” with huge tax burdens and the accompanying compliance issues for simply wanting a better life.
