possibly the best ever rider to come from the north East and a true gentleman, a pleasure to say he was a friend.

What a great ambassador for motorcycle racing, superb results before his untimely tragic road accident at Spring Bank. Watching Mr Smooth at Croft was a big factor in me starting racing there in 1972, going on to win races in most classes and even passengering for various drivers. Ken was a superstar and a guy to look upto, very quick and smooth, never looked like he was trying, sure fire sign of a quick racer. I never knew Ken but I raced with his brother Mike and another local Hero Stewart Hodgson, and got to know Kens family quite well over the years. If anyone deserves a corner naming after him its the gentleman Hard Racer Ken Redfern, Thanks Ken!!!!
