The entire meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus and to bring families together, the people that are complaining are more than likely out of state'ers or not even from this country, the same people that are ruining the great state of Colorado, if they don't like it leave ✌

My dad worked at Climax. The cross remains a reminder of all the sacrifices my dad made for us.

Isn't a cross the symbol of Christmas? I bet those folks who are "offended" don't hesitate to take advantage of all the Christmas season has to offer!

To the owners and board member of Freeport MacMorRan we the people of Leadville understand this is a business for you. We also understand that you can do as you want because you do. What we are hoping for is that you take the time to look into your hearts and let a tradition that has been around forever to stay that way, a tradition. Not a religious celebration. This Cross means so many different things to so many of us. Personally I don't think any of us would mind if you kept it lit year round. A small symbol of hope shining on the top of your mountain for so many Leadvillites has shined for years. Please don't take it away from us even though you can. Thank you, Diana Holte born in Leadville, raised in Leadville, worked at your mine and still a proud resident of Leadville.

This cross needs to be lit, even though it is something very small it means a lot to the long time Leadville locals that spent there whole lives at that mine Fremont pass will not be the same to drive over with out that cross on this time of year. If there is a few sensitive people offended by it then don't look at it.

That cross has been a part of Climax for decades. To take it down now knowing it means so much to hundreds of people would be wrong in so many ways. Keep the lights please

I love that cross on the way home. It is a beacon that you are close to home even in the worst snow storm.

Please re-light the cross. I worked 37 years at the Climax Mine and cannot remember a Christmas without the Cross. It saddens me that the current management at Climax gives in to a few "complainers" and eliminates a long standing tradition that has so much meaning to so many. Not the same Company I was so proud to have worked for.

That cross is very crucial to leadvillites, its like a compass tells you where you are when you cant see anything in a snow storm. And it is a tradition since the mine started many many years ago. Lets keep some dignity at least. I implore you!!!! Stand for the cross.
