Relight Climax Cross

I live in New york but have family there in Leadville and i myself have been there and seen the cross. My question is why did the company put it up in the first place? And now they want to turn it off? What is this world coming to? Maybe all people who have stock in the Freeport-McmoRan company need to sell all their stock and not buy anymore of it!!!! That's what i plan on doing. I will not nor will any of my friends here in upper New York buy anymore stock in their company!!! I am spreading the word to my friends and colleagues here in New York!!!

I've read the online action of the company's land to put up a circular other sign I say NO, we want our lighted up cross and there is no replacement what part of that don't they understand, now we MUST all stand and sign this petition, and pray for it to be relit!!!! I know they own the company but shouldn't the majority have the vote, is this country about fairness? About the vote? Let's make it count and sign, sign, sign!!!!! Bahhumbug to the corporate Scrooges!!!!

I can't believe they won't light the cross at Climax, how stupid is that . I don't care what they'd reasons are its just very wrong.. Please continue lighting this beautiful cross.

I think it's baloney to unplug it & replace with a secular symbol so as not to "offend" people. What if taking it down offends me? The fact is, most people probably see it more as a historical mark than a religious symbol, so just let it be! It really is a nice thing to see when driving home in a blizzard - it means I'm almost home!!

Not that this will do any good, but at least we know our town has people who truly care.

This has been a tradition in our community for decades. This is CHRISTMAS season not merely a holiday season by the residents of the Leadville area! Please reconsider as I reconsider my stance on FCX stock!

I have sting ancestry ties to Leadville and is my favorite place in Colorado to visit. I love Leadville and the history of it. My Greatgrand parents are buried there and my Grandmother was raised there, Leadville was built from a Christian culture that gave the miners faith and strength, don't take that away from such a wonderful place. Relight the cross please!

My grandfather retired from there and lost of other relatives not to mention all the family that works there now. Do the right thing and stop worrying about offending people. Don't like it... don't look plain and simple or get another job elsewhere

It is sad, not to mention shameful for this to happen. This is a country that was founded on religious freedoms and the right of everyone to express them. This politically correct way of thinking is leading to the decline of this great country.
