Access to fast reliable Internet is now nearly as essential as access to electricity to keep people connected to information and to each other. Whether for year-round residents, summer people, or anyone debating where to live or vacation, this will make Swans Island more appealing and daily life more workable.
541 Jericho Bay Road Ellie Wilkinson 541 Jericho Bay Road I have become a permanent resident of Swan's Island and expect the same broad band service I received as a city dweller. The island will not survive and prosper without it. It is Ann essential part of life in the 21st century.
8 Ferry Road, Swan's Island When I spend my long-awaited time on Swan's, I always bring work with me - it's the only way I can stay longer than a few days. We have internet/wifi at our home, but it's frequently undependable. It would be GREAT if we were able to bring faster, more dependable internet to the island. It would make running a business (locally or remotely) much, much easier.
Thanks o the Broadband Committee that is working on this! High speed Internet is NEEDED on the island...it will help attract people who work out of their home and hopefully keep others from leaving.
Our internet speed is at top speed 4 for download and 2 for upload. We have been told time and again this is the best we can get ...even if we are willing to pay more.
We have been on Swan’s Island for 7-10 days. Trying do work was really slow!
It is a necessity for the residents of Swan's Island to have access to reliable high-speed Internet.

While we are summer residents, we strongly believe that the island, including lobstermen, need broadband to survive and grow long term.
