I believe this is being taken too far. Punishment for liability can be worked out with the school admin and parents. There is no reason why these kids need to face court/jail time. It was an innocent prank. There are bigger monsters out there to call ghost busters on.

This is ridiculous to charge these kids. That's going on their record. Give them a few days a community service

Outrageous. Could have given detention or worst case suspention, and put a wet floor sign down. Get to dealing with real issues instead of ruining kids futures over a damn water balloon.

The decision to file charges against these three students is an embarrassment to MHS, MPS, and the city of Minot.

The fact that they want to ruin the future of three students over water in a rubber ball is idiotic.

These kids should not get criminal charges pressed against them! It was a harmless prank!

Punishment should fit the crime but not time!!!

Giving children a criminal record over childhood fun- as potentially ruining their futures and careers is not where we should be headed- Are high schools standing for the progression of teenagers into successful adults- or does this continue to prove that our schools are for profit?

Fire the assistant superintendent! Incompetent over paid study hall monitor. I thought it was ridiculous when I first heard the stupidity of police involvement and now I'm mad at these educator cowards passing the buck and hiding behind "privacy" issues. Drain the swamp...

This is plain outright abuse of authority. What are these people thinking? calling in local police to handle such a minor infraction is just irresponsible at the least. There are legitimate crimes being committed that our law enforcement could be dealing with. It also shows that the person responsible for the charges is inept at their position. They are imposing their own personal belief over common societal norms.

It absolutely blows my mind that the administration would want to send the students off into the real world with a criminal record for some so minor. Senior year should be some of the best times as a youth!! They could be doing a lot worse like heroin, meth, etc!

This is quiet a harmless crime; naughty yes, detention, yes. Criminal charges? A night in jail? NO. I think there are far dirtier things that could be getting taken care of in Minot, like the drugs on the street, the homeless, and many more to name. But kids just being kids as the end of the year approaches? I'm sorry but this is far too extreme.
