A criminal record doesn't seem justified for a water ballon fight. They are young, it was a prank. They were excited about being seniors and graduating. Disruption or not this all seems a bit extravagant!

This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. So glad I transferred out of MPS before I graduated. Absolutely asinine.

Giving the kids a record for a high school prank is a little ridiculous. Back in the day we would have had to clean it up and maybe get detention. Let the kids have their youth!

Really? Is this what our police force has come to? Water balloon fights are now something we to investigate? USE SOME COMMON SENSE! The police chief needs to answer for this stupidity.

MPD have an overload of work- many more horriable problems the city of Minot is dealing with and putting a waterbaloon fight on payroll is ridiculous and disgusting.

This is ridiculous unless there's additional information not being shared. Sad it's even a story.

The school overreacted and it's dumb. It's just a senior prank. Court is not necessary.

Come on people....4 water balloons. Was anyone hurt? Lose an eye? Or did a couple of kids just get their shoes wet? Make them write an essay or give them an hour of detention for not heading the warning provided. Let the punishment fit the crime. Prosecution though? Come on! Think back to YOUR Senior Year prank (hiding the principal's car, etc.) a couple of water balloons hardly seems worth talking about.

If you need to punish those three, I know the janitor has a lot of deep cleaning to do over the summer.. they are kids having fun!!
