The 1992 Australian Cast Concert Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar was a phenomenal success with fans of stage and the artists involved. To date, the only keepsake fans have had of this production is the Official Cast Recording CD which at the time, debut at #1 and remained at #1 for 10 weeks (4× Platinum). It also went on to be awarded 'Highest Selling Album' at the 1993 ARIA Awards.
Concert footage of several tracks have made their way onto youtube in an unofficial capacity. Fans are eager for the entire film to be released in DVD, Blu-ray formats or if the last resort, digital or cinema release.
The cast included:
•John Farnham - Jesus
•Kate Ceberano - Mary Magdalene
•Jon Stevens - Judas
•Angry Anderson - Herod
•John Waters - Pontius Pilate
•Russell Morris - Simon Zealotes
•David Gould - Caiaphas
•David Hirschfelder was the Musical Director
Polydor Music released the cast album (which is a label controlled by Universal Music). Please sign the petition to show Universal that a film release is a guaranteed seller and will preserve and celebrate a successful production that has yet to be matched in this country.

I was fortunate enough to see this production live in Melbourne, the cast was world class!!! I would love to have the DVD.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release the final show in Sydney on DVD. John Farnham's performance of Gethsemane (re YouTube) MUST be preserved and enjoyed way into the future. Please just bill me when it's released. I absolutely confirm my commitment to buy a DVD (or several) when it is released. PLEASE!!!

I would love for JCSS 1992 Australian cast dvd to be released. I was never able to go to this show, and love this particular cast. I’d love to see it and would buy the dvd.
