This would make it harder for me to get into the colleges that I want to get into. We need to keep the schedule like it is right now.

I wanted to do dual enrollment next year and with th e new schedule I can't. This will also take away my CTE that I've been working hard in everyday.

The block schedule was the best thing to ever happen to my family. Some kids require longer classes and the block schedule worked perfectly for that.

Too many people are relying on dual enrollment for college. It's really not smart to remove such an amazing opportunity. It helps make four year universities less of a burden and more of a possibility for some people.

Please keep these classes. The one thing I love about CHS is the variety of options to students. Don't take that away.

While I personally feel like 7 period classes would provide a more attentive learning space (people have short attention spans, and you can't teach a class in 45 minutes). Removing oppurtunities for students to advance themselves outside of the traditional route is a must have if Cookeville wishes to remain as high caliber school as they are now. I took several dual enrollment classes and CTE classes as well, and without them I wouldn't be where I am today.

When I was a student, I took 8 or 9 classes each year in order to get all the credits I needed to graduate, also collecting 17 hours of college credits and taking at least 2 fine arts classes for 3/4 years. Why would CHS decrease the number of possible credits you can earn in a year to 7, decreasing students' college readiness and opportunities to learn new things? In order to sand by its claim of "College or Career Ready", CHS needs to keep the current block schedule or perfect that system, not completely change the infrastructure of how classes and credits work.

CHS is a school with 2,000+ students who find their identity in high school through certain CTE or Fine arts classes that will become less available to students if the new schedule is put into effect. It is rediculous and idiotic to think that CHS should function at the same high level it already is by holding it to the same standards as a small school with not even half as many students.

Although I will be graduating and won't be affected personally there are so many opportunities that the students will be missing out on if the schedule is changed. I strongly support dual enrollment in particular and believe it is one of the best options the school provides and the schedule now is already somewhat conflicting and it will only get worse if CHS switches to this schedule.

Dual enrollment has helped me in college and helped save a lot of money. It's an opportunity that should be kept available.
