I support the reinstatement of the death penalty in South Africa for the most serious and violent crimes because people who deliberately take innocent lives, particularly through murder, kidnapping, and other acts of extreme violence, should face the strongest possible consequences under the law. Our justice system must protect innocent people, hold perpetrators fully accountable, and send a clear message that the deliberate destruction of human life carries the highest level of punishment.

for all brutal, premeditated murders, i agree that the punishment should reflect the seriousness of the crime. Where an offender deliberately takes an innocent person’s life, the state should have the option of imposing its most severe punishment.
