SFAR leadership confirmed today that the broker tour will be reinstated starting next month. We secured this outcome by remaining focused on the logistical necessity of property evaluations. I will monitor the rollout to ensure the new safety protocols are implemented as promised.

We all understand the importance of safety during this time of COVID. That being said, we have a job to do as agents and our ability to do so has been severely effected by not having a broker's tour. Our value comes from our knowledge of the market and without seeing property, it is hard to really know value. We also are now forced to show property and waste our time and our clients time on places we would have eliminated if we had broker's tour. No one is saying flood a house with as many agents as possible, but we believe safe, limited and a protected broker's tour could be established. SFAR's role is to be an organization that represents us, the agents. If this is our desire, they should help us enact what the agents want. Please sign this petition to show SFAR that we would like to reinstate a version of broker's tour.

I am currently drafting a formal proposal for the SFAR board that outlines specific safety protocols for a modified tour schedule. Several agents have reached out to share their own ideas for distancing measures during these viewings. I will present these suggestions during the next leadership hearing.

I hope we can find a responsible and safe way to reinstate tour and most importantly get our clients in homes more efficiently than working 100 hour weeks - exhausted !!!!!

We really need to get our broker’s tours back. It is extremely difficult to advise our clients with confidence without been able to preview the inventory

Open to doing so in a smart, uncongested way...i.e., limited number of agents in the home at one time, listing agent stays outside and agents inside encouraged to move through and exit vs. standing and gathering. There is a safe way to accomplish this.

We need to be able to preview properties and network in-person with our fellow agents to effectively do our jobs. We can easily abide by all of the OSHA covid regulations and still preview homes during the traditional Tuesday tour timezones. We need the support of our leadership to help reinstate this practice.

If Trader Joe’s can do this safely, so can we. In fact tour is safer be haha only one person needs to touch the key, the door knob, the light switches, etc. compared to each agent making individual appointments at various times and each needing to touch everything and disinfecting (or not) for each viewing.

Without scientific evidence that real estate practices are a greater risk than other PERMITTED practices such as dining indoors, salons, etc... there is no just cause for limiting real estate services which are significantly important to the industry. Without the ability to tour, we cannot as accurate price listings or advise buyers. These limitations are damaging the industry!

We should be able to follow similar guidelines as grocery stores or to-go restaurants. Masks, capacity limits, social distancing are all normal activities now. We have shown we can be safe and responsible - we need to relax brokers tours and open houses.
