K-9 units are a valuble tool for our officers. There must be other places to to cut back and continue to fund this unit.

If money is short, get rid of a couple of dead beats in the legislature and bring the K-9 unit back with those funds. That would be a win for everyone

So sad. I feel like without K-9 that more issue will present themselves then just a budget issue. Issues such as increased drug traffic,lost persons going unfound, etc.

This is a shame that this is were cuts are being made. The list could probably go on forever as to where some cuts should be made but this certainly isn't one of them

surely there are other places that could be cut that would impact the county less like almost automatic raises for supervisory positions throughout the county.

It's a shame when a usefull government service is cut to allow useless services to keep running. These dogs work their hearts out and put themselves in danger for the law following citizens, and they get the cut. They help track down drugs in schools to keep our kids safe and try to eliminate a drug problem early on, but hey what the heck let them get screwed up young. I am all for the keeping of the k9 unit i think others should take cuts in pay before disolving a good unit.

Law enforcement officers are never 'off duty.' They are dedicated public servants who are sworn to protect public safety at any time and place that the peace is threatened. They need all the help that they can get and this includes Hershey...
