I just refreshed the page and saw we hit one thousand signatures which feels completely surreal considering I started this on a whim because I was so frustrated about Hershey being sidelined. It is wild to think about how many people care about this dog and the work he actually does around here when you look at that number sitting there on the screen.

I have been staring at the empty kennels and thinking about how much work Hershey still could be doing instead of just sitting at home. The sheriff has not sent a single reply to my emails yet but I keep printing out these pages of names so they cannot just pretend everything is fine.

To have this program is such an honor. It is a large asset that we greatly need. In May when my father was missing the K-9 unit assisted in the finding of my father. Without them our search time would have been longer. Reinstate the program!
most depts faced with expense issues have fund raisers too supplement k9 unit -dinners-chinese auctions etc!! it is pointless for the tax payers too loose a k9 that brings so much to the communitine it serves-his training cost to be justified means he has to stay working serving the citizens
Lets keep this going... Lets keep Hersey on the job.. He's very much needed in this county. I have children and I want to know we are doing all we can to keep them safe... In our schools and on the streets , Hersey and Deputy Ashley are very much needed to do that..
Dept Andrew Ashley & Hershey came into my Criminal Justice BOCES class, it was a great experience and help with what a lot of students want to do with our life's! KEEP THE K-9! Hershey is a Person too!!
I am a retired Police Officer and live in St Lawrence county.Hershey is one of us and everyone needs to sign this petition and reinstate the k-9 Unit to full capacity. I fully understand and am aware of the importance of Police agencies and having a K-9 unit. Please show your support and sign this petition.
save Hershey, give him his job back
Hershey along with all K9's provide an invaluable service, the department should consider itself lucky to have such an asset.

I believe the community was responsible for buying Hershey for the Sheriffs Department. They should have a say in Hersheys fate. I vote we let Hershey and Deputy Ashley do their jobs.
