The school board thought they could fire Coach Fitzgerald and everyone would just stay quiet. This wave of support proves they were dead wrong about us.

He coached my son, Matthew who said Mike Fitzgerald was the BEST coach he ever had, a coach who believed in his talent!
Mike has been an awesome addition to our Legion baseball team, before him we never really knew when anything was or how they were doing. I know he put forth the same energy to the JV team as well, we had the pleasure of hosting them for bowling many times when Mike just wanted to do something special for them. In my opinion the wrong coach was let go.
As an umpire who works a couple of Mike's games every year. He has always respected umpires and instilled that respect in the boy under his leadership.
Coach Fitzgerald has contributed so much of his life and time to the kids he coaches. My son is in sports and I have been exposed to a lot of coaches and coaching style, Mike gives so much to his kids( yes I said 'his' because that is what he considers them, extensions of his own family). The time and dedication goes above and beyond and he should continue to be this schools coach.
I played for coach fitz for my whole high school career and he showed the most heart for the game and the most support for the kids and the program that a coach in UP has seen in a long time, huge mistake
I see political correctness has reared its ugly head once again. Politics as usual. Coach Fitzgerald paid the price for playing the best at there position instead of whose Parent "messages" the right people. These same people think there should be Participation Trophies handed out when their team wins two games during a season. It's a shame and a sham!
Coach Fitzgerald has been not only a the best coach I have played for but also a great mentor. Baseball mimics life in many ways. Coach Fitzgerald has been a positive influence to me as a leader and also a mentor. He is tough on his players in a positive way. I can't believe someone would take away a person of his character. He has made me a better ball player and has always known how to get the best out of me and our team. Our record this year indicates that. We were not that far off from taking it to even a higher level.

What a loss to Upper Perkiomen Baseball! Mike is first class on and off the field, I've been coaching and training our youth for 20+ years and have not run across anyone as dedicated as Mike!
