Reinstate a school crossing patrol person outside of Llanishen Fach Primary School

Definitely require lollipop man or crossing. Very busy road with a lot of children crossing, my daughter being one of them

Safety first please

This is a busy crossroads junction with the crossing situated next to corners. I've lost count the number of times I have crossed this road with my daughter and cars have failed to stop. It's an accident waiting to happen!!

Safety for children should be number one priority.

This is a very busy crossing with a lot of children crossing. At the school times its very busy with cars busses and other transport. Please reinstate the crossing man/lady befor an accident happens. Thank you

Todays news a girl was knocked over on her way to school coincidently residents there had been petitioning for a zebra crossing.

Safety of children is paramount

This crossing needs a lollipop person as the road is so busy at school drop off and pick up times. Please reconsider the criteria. We don't want to see any accidents by our school.

Really silly decision, there is no zebra crossing on a really busy road, Rhiwbina Primary have a crossing and a patrol so important to reinstate its so busy in that area during school times

My daughter is due to go to this school, and I've already noticed the lack of crossing support. This is a ridiculously busy road - something is definitely needed!

I am very disappointed with the decision to remove an important role in ensuring that the children get to school safety. There is now no assistance to cross a difficult road. This is a bus route and apart from a 20 limit, which many ignore, there is no zebra crossing, no lights and now no crossing assistance. I appreciate that you are following recommended guidelines but they state that each authority should take other appropriate factors in consideration and the council should review and should reinstate.

i have seen many accidents on this crossing over the years with cars fighting to get out of the side roads and not looking at the people crossing.

Reinstate a crossing at llanishen fach primary!!

Shocking decision! The school entrance is on a busy main road used by a high volum of cars either; dropping children to school, local residents or commuters using the road as an alternative route through Rhiwbina as it connects Pantmawr with Llanishen meaning it's a preferred route than other main roads. The volume of traffic is incredibly high particularly at school drop off and collection times. The school entrance is also on a main city centre bus route with frequent buses travelling up and down this road passing the school entrance. The school entrance is also next to school coach parking where large coaches are regularly in use and a small child is practically invisible to a vehicle of this size. Why is it the road and parking on the road is considered enough of an issue that you regularly send enforcement by way of a police officer to monito parking yet it's not enough of an issue to appoint a lollipop man?? I'd just like to add maybe you could deal with the speed of drivers that are more likely to injure or kill someone than a parked car! Why is is other schools, and I can immediately think of 2 in close proximity to the school that benefit from a zebra crossing and lollipop man yet this school now has neither? Do you at least plan to put some sort of crossing in place; Zebra or otherwise? How was this decision made without consultation and I would invite the decision maker to come meet with us at school drip off or pick up and witness the need for this themselves. The reality for a lot of people dripping off or collecting children from the school is that they do this with a buggy or other small children in tow and doing this across a busy congested road where visability is an issue, speed is an issue is dangerous. A lid acrid decision to compromise children's safety over budgets. Infuriating!

My daughter is in year 6 learning to walk home on her own in preparation to high school. The patrol is important for our children at this stage.

The crossing directly outside the school gate is where it's most needed. Negotiating the traffic with a 3 year old and pram is very difficult and it's only a matter of time before there is an accident.

This is an important part of teaching kids about the roads and road safety

My kids used the lollipop man every school day. Without him, we have to negotiate a busy road particularly at morning and afternoon rush hours.
