this is the second time since I’ve had a child at LFPS that we’ve had to go through this. The councils criteria for whether or not a lollipop wo/man is required or not is clearly not of sound basis. The cars are parked in such a way that not only did the lollipop man previously struggle to see whether or not it was safe for him to step out and control traffic but a child half his height has no chance. As some of the children reach the older school years and live in the near vicinity they are allowed to walk to school by themselves in preparation for high school, only yesterday a young girl was left crying because she could not find a safe time to cross the road and in the end had to be assisted by a stranger. It’s going to get darker as winter sets in, it’ll get busier the worse the weather gets and more people take their cars and visibility will be a nightmare. The same difficulty for parents and childminders crossing the road with several children. It’s not only the parents parking but the road is used a through route and the speed of some drivers and their impatience because they need to slow down due to the level of traffic sees them make rash decisions like mounting pavements or speeding up significantly as soon as they see a gap and this is dangerous. We don’t need the PCSO hassling parents about parking, we don’t need email reminders to take care. The drivers that cause the hazard pay no attention to these. We need someone to patrol a crossing for the safety of children. Could also do with a painted zebra crossing because I don’t think we have one?! Let’s hope the council can see reason and reinstate our lollipop man ASAP!

It’s a busy area during school times with no alternative crossing method, this is vital to ensure the safety of our children.

Llanishen Fach primary is on a busy bus route, and needs a crossing person for safety as well as the social interaction, every child likes to chat with the crossing person, it’s so important.

Another crazy decision and budget driven. You can not put a price on life. Same situation in Heol Y Deri.

I can’t believe schools even have to meet a certain “qualification” criteria to have a safe crossing.Surely the fact it is a school with young lives at risk would automatically qualify?!.

With no zebra crossing present, this is a disaster waiting to happen. Hope everyone stays safe until this reckless decision has been reversed.
