My mother Annette is at present wheelchair bound with constant pain while sitting due to a chronic bone infection and a healing open wound. After faxing med reports and the office accepting the case, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Francis Pelham and traveled by ambulette from LI to NYC to see him on 6/12/13. Though we made the trip, we never saw the doctor. A variety of mixups were the reason. The doctor phoned me in the afternoon, took another call 1 minute into the conversation and was never to be heard from again. I filed a grievance with NYU Langone for reimbursement of the $375 in transportation costs but was denied. It appears the doctor's office falsified all facts relating to 6/12/13. When I phoned the doctor's office to question why the lies, I was hung up on and night services were turned on. I attempted 6 times to speak with the people who worked on the "investigation" and issued the reimbursement denial. I attempted in both verbal and written form, yet haven't received a single response. This is unjust for a handicapped woman to spend close to $400 in Social Security money and not even receive a phone call from a doctor whose mistakes were the reason for the waste of time and money. It also displays poor ethics and professionalism on the part of administration at NYU Langone to not respond after 6 attempts to reach them.
