Sign to relocate Gleann Riada residents. The lives of 79 families living in the Gleann Riada estate longford Ireland has been devastated. Bought in good faith, the development was given the go-ahead by the local council without enough investigation which has resulted in numerous faults. The most dangerous of all being cracked sewerage pipes that has at this present causing noxious gases to seep into homes. Methane, Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphate have caused two explosions so far. A recent HSE report called for immediate works on the properties advising that without immediate intervention people's lives were at risk. The local council is unwilling to support residents and has asked them to pay for the works which would run into hundreds of thousands of euros. An independent engineer has condemned the estate sayings it ps beyond repair and poses a serious risk to life.

It is terrifying to think of kids growing up in a place that is literally being condemned. Just move them.

Disgraceful. The council needs to be held accountable for approving this mess in the first place.

My heart breaks for these families. Imagine being scared to turn on a light in your own home. Get them out of there!

this is absolutely madness. how is the council allowed to just walk away while people are living in houses that could explode any second? sort it out now.
