Blacktown City Council, NSW has devised a plan called the Blacktown Local Environment Plan (BLEP) which is forcing 22,000 homes which fall under the Blacktown City Council umbrella to be demolished and rezoned for "Parklands and Roadways". It is to my knowledge that these homeowners and families will be compensated for market value of land only - not property; our homes have decreased in value because of the proposed plans, although aside from financial issues these families are now faced with the daunting task of relocating but not actually being able to afford to relocate because of the lousy compensation provided by BCC.
