I have been hearing from so many of you about the dangerous conditions on Donges Bay Road and your personal experiences really put this into perspective. This is truly your momentum pushing the conversation forward and I am just doing my best to keep up with all the energy you are bringing to this.

Clearly, this main east-west road in our community needs MORE than the minimum upgrade! The many children who use Kinderberg deserve and need the safety that the deceleration lanes and extra width provide! Please do the FULL upgrade of Donges Bay Rd!

With the speed and amount of traffic on Donges Bay, I don't feel safe running or having my kids go to their friends houses without a separate sidewalk or lane separate from the road. The hills make it especially dangerous. A little extra money towards this improvement is definitely worth saving a life.

Donges Bay Rd. has been the bain of my existence for quite some time. Nice houses border both sides of this road. It is a gateway to show what a nice community we have here. The homes are well kept up and make the community a nice place to live in. To thank us for our efforts and to continue making Germantown a nice place to live, a road that doesn't require my car to get realigned on a consistent basis would be nice.

I believe that most of the people who support the project as stated do so for two reasons: 1. it will add sidewalks where there are none and 2. the road needs to be repaired. But fixing the road as the village has proposed will also widen the road considerably. The wider a road is, the more comfortable people are with driving faster on it, and the higher rate of speed is not compatible with the residential nature of the road, especially west of Pilgrim road with the many driveways that join the road and small children the live along it. We all want a better, safer road, but a wider road will be neither. Widening the road will require the relocation of hydrants and electrical power. It may need the village to acquire homeowner's property by right of eminent domain. This will all be expensive. None of this would be necessary if the road width is kept the same. I support adding sidewalks where needed and repairing Donges Bay Road, but I do not support changes that will change the character of the road that will draw more traffic and faster traffic to it, and therefore I will not sign this petition.

One of the things we enjoy about living in this area is the walking/biking path- Donges Bay Rd. completes the loop we use for running, as well as for biking to Kinderberg Park.

The local auto repair shops use Donges Bay as a test road because it is so bad. These repairs need to be done.

Keep Germantown a family community. Lots of us have children & dogs and ride bikes. Taking out the pathways makes it less community friendly to get to neighboring parks
