This petition is to request that our 2nd-grade Jackson class family remain as a unit with Ms. Whitney Reese as our children's 3rd-grade teacher.

We know this is an unusual request but after making it through a Global Pandemic and seeing the stress and anxiety that built up in our kids, it feels especially important. There has been an unprecedented amount of educational and societal turbulence.

Our class is filled with students who have diverse educational needs. To change teachers, classrooms, and peers would create another learning curve of pressure as they attempt to navigate a new peer group and new teacher with a different teaching style and different rules.

We believe staying with Ms. Reese would give our kids the advantage of stability and community that they desperately need after having been Kindergarteners during the eruption of the COVID-19 virus.

We hope that this request from caregivers can be accommodated and that Ms. Reese, who has taught at Jackson for over 20 years, will have seniority in helping make this choice.
