Dear TBBS Administrators,
Happy holiday season! We, the undersigned parents of Ms. Samayoa’s Pre-K cub classroom, have come together to provide Ms. Samayoa and Ms. Richardson with a gift of gratitude for how they have welcomed our cubs into the TBBS community. It was with deep sadness that, as we gathered in celebration, we learned of Ms. Richardson’s pending abrupt removal from the classroom.
With city-wide budget cuts, we are aware that TBBS is doing everything to fill gaps and respond to needs arising. That said, we have organized this petition in support of Ms. Richardson because we, as impacted parents, would like more notice and communication about such a move.
We have entrusted Brooklyn Brownstone with the care of our 3 and 4-year-old children during this pivotal period of transition and childhood development. Ms. Richardson’s unfailing joy and consistent presence has been a crucial part of our cubs development of a love for learning. We would like to maintain the sense of stability that has been created by Ms. Samayoa and Ms. Richardson’s partnership.
Additionally, Ms. Richardson has health care and caregiving concerns that deserve more consideration over winter break. Please consider scheduling time to connect with Ms. Richardson and evaluate alternative measures to fill the staffing gap at the Lafayette campus.
If a parent representative is desired, we will be happy to present one.

The administration has responded to the growth of this petition and agreed to a formal meeting to discuss current staffing plans. I am now finalizing a list of specific alternative measures to present to the leadership team tomorrow.

Mrs. Richardson is an amazing paraprofessional that the children love. I watch how my child and others happily interact with her and it's a shame that this bond is being broken. Please keep Mrs Richardson in the Brooklyn Brownstone Pre-K cubs class.
We’ve known Ms. Richardsons love and kindness since our son had her in his Pre-K class. Let’s not take that away our pre-k kids, esp in their first year of school. Not to mention, two adults seems very necessary in a classrooms of almost 20 toddlers.
I am available to help out in any way that i can.
We would prefer the paras stay with the classes they are currently in at both locations.
Ms Richardson is an awesome teacher. Having her with our kiddies has made their first year at Brooklyn Brownstone a great experience.
We want to keep Ms. R in our classroom.
