Please sign our Petition to be presented to Moreton Bay Regional Council, Main Roads QLD, Mr Wyatt Roy MP, Mr Trevor Ruthenberg MP and anyone else who will listen to our concerns.

Old Gympie Rd at Dakabin currently has a speed limit of 80kmph between Goodwin Rd (RSPCA) and Hughes Road East (NorthPine Christian College).

On this 200m stretch of road there are 5 exit/entry points.
First being Goodwin Rd (turning left and right on exit, one inward lane), Second being the driveway to Watson Park (turning left and right on exit, one inward lane), Third being the inward lanes to the Dakabin Refuse Tip, Fourth being the exit lanes (left and right turning) from the Dakabin Refuse Tip and finally Hughes Road East (turning left and right at exit lane, and one inward lane)

Dakabin Refuse Tip and Hughes Road East are opposite each other - at any one time it is possible to have 10 lanes of traffic exiting/entering/turning onto/across/driving along the 80kmph road at this intersection.

What would we like to see as an end result........... the speed limit from Goodwin Road onwards reduced to 60kmph. Realistically you are looking at drivers traveling between 70 - 90 kmph in this area.

The speed limit coming into the new intersection of Plantation Road/Alma Road has been reduced so why not reduce the speed limit for the rest of the stretch considering the volume of traffic is currently greater at the Goodwin/Hughes Rd East end - with NO traffic lights!
